Why online calculators can look lower: many sites assume top-tier credit and rates. Real rates for used cars depend on credit, income, down payment and the lender — we'll show you your real numbers. Many also assume 60–72 months on any car; for cars over 100K miles, most banks limit terms to 48 months unless credit is excellent.
What else do lenders look at besides my credit score?
Lenders also look at your income, your other monthly payments and how many car loans you already have. Even with good credit, a loan can be declined if your income doesn't comfortably cover all your payments. For example, if you already have two car payments, many lenders won't approve a third unless your income clearly supports it. A larger down payment, a trade-in or paying off an existing loan can help.
